Corporate Citizenship

Our compromise with the environment

At Pharmaloop, we are taking a proactive role to help preserve the environment. Pharmaceutical businesses have traditionally produced large amounts of waste. However, we are aware of our responsibility and we strive to make positive contributions to society and the environment.

Pharmaloop is committed to the environment and demonstrates that commitment by operating sustainable activities that foster environmental protection and respect. The protection of the environment is a must for us. Caring for people certainly involves such a commitment.

Zero paper policy

Pharmaloop has eliminated all processes related to publishing leaflets and catalogues on paper by improving its communications via tablet. With this innovative initiative, Pharmaloop sales representatives visit doctors using this audio visual tool, with no paper brochures, making their visits more sustainable.

We have a selective collection of similar to urban waste and industrial waste management according to a minimization plan. As a company packaging pharmaceutical products, we are responsible for the containers that we market. We are a member of the SIGRE integrated container management and collection system.
To the extent permitted by law, Pharmaloop collaborates with non-governmental organizations that are authorized for the classification and Management of Industrial, Computing and Healthcare Waste.

Energy, water and resource savings

Pharmaloop constantly improves its facilities to minimize energy consumption and to be a company with minimal impact on the CO2 footprint.

Minimization of atmospheric emissions

Noise, particles and combustion gases. In this respect, Pharmaloop is firmly in favor of using more sustainable fuel, switching from fuel oil to natural gas.

European Code of Practice

The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) represent the pharmaceutical industry operating in Europe. Through its direct membership of 33 national associations, EFPIA is the voice on the EU scene of 1,900 companies committed to researching, developing and bringing new medicines to patients that will improve health and quality of life around the world.

In 1991 in Spain was adopted the Spanish Code the European Code of Practice for the Promotion of Medicines, approved by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). Since this first version, it has been reviewed (the last version is from June 2019) to adapt itself and anticipate the new requirements from a society in constant evolution.

This continuous evolution is caused by the necessity to adapt to legislative modifications and new initiatives in the field of self-regulation. Additionally, to cover the set of activities performed by the pharmaceutical companies with its stakeholders, with whom it interacts and relates and by the will to reinforce its compliance and endow the Code with more credibility and transparency.

The Code becomes key to guarantee that the information provided in the field of promotion of prescription-only medicines is complete, accurate and objective with the intent to benefit the interests of both the Healthcare Administration and the pharmaceutical industry itself, with the aim to protect and improve public health.

Salvat’s group has certified its its commitment to the implementation of the EFPIA European Disclosure Code. Pharmaloop, as a group company member, is also commited to those principles.

Active contribution to our industry

In our search for excellence we are active members of different industry associations, where we contribute our knowledge and look for ways to improve healthcare systems, making them more efficient and accessible to patients.
Pharmaloop, as a Salvat company is a member of the following entities:

Salvat Foundation

Where art and science meet

Salvat Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Barcelona, whose origins date back to 1972. From the very beginning, the Foundation decided to focus on innovation. Today, in addition to continuing the important scientific work through a biannual prize for Research in Pharmaceutical Technology, the Salvat Foundation plays an important role in the patronage of the arts, focusing on Music and Contemporary Art.

The Salvat Foundation is a boost to the Salvat Collection of Contemporary Art started in the company over 20 years ago. This is an indication of the commitment and the illusion of the family that owns Salvat with art.
