The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) represent the pharmaceutical industry operating in Europe. Through its direct membership of 33 national associations, EFPIA is the voice on the EU scene of 1,900 companies committed to researching, developing and bringing new medicines to patients that will improve health and quality of life around the world.
In 1991 in Spain was adopted the Spanish Code the European Code of Practice for the Promotion of Medicines, approved by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). Since this first version, it has been reviewed (the last version is from June 2019) to adapt itself and anticipate the new requirements from a society in constant evolution.
This continuous evolution is caused by the necessity to adapt to legislative modifications and new initiatives in the field of self-regulation. Additionally, to cover the set of activities performed by the pharmaceutical companies with its stakeholders, with whom it interacts and relates and by the will to reinforce its compliance and endow the Code with more credibility and transparency.
The Code becomes key to guarantee that the information provided in the field of promotion of prescription-only medicines is complete, accurate and objective with the intent to benefit the interests of both the Healthcare Administration and the pharmaceutical industry itself, with the aim to protect and improve public health.
Salvat’s group has certified its its commitment to the implementation of the EFPIA European Disclosure Code. Pharmaloop, as a group company member, is also commited to those principles.
